WHAT IS MCLP & WHY IS IT IMPORTANT
MCLP stands for Massachusetts Certified Landscape Professional. It is a series of tests and recertification classes taken by landscape professionals to improve their knowledge of their industry. Although it is not required, the state is in the process of trying to make it a mandatory certification in order for a landscape company to provide services to a customer similar to electricians or plumbers. This way only the most knowledgeable companies in Massachusetts will be able to work on your landscaping projects, thus taking the guess work out of the equation when you are trying to decide who will be performing your landscape services for you.
